Write compelling college application essays, even if you haven't climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.
In the last decade, and even over the pandemic, the college application process has become more complicated and competitive.
That's where we come in.
At our virtual bootcamp, which takes place live online via zoom, we'll guide you every step of the way so you can gain confidence and control over the application process.
You'll be in good hands with Emilia Wiles, Founder and Executive Director of College Confident, an innovative college access program that services dozens of high schools in New York City, and her team of counselors. With more than 11 years of experience leading 15,000 students and their families through the college application journey, Emilia knows that the process can feel overwhelming — and create family conflicts and stress.
This bootcamp will demystify the process and break down the timeline into simple milestones, so your family is not left behind or dependent on the advice from an overworked high school counselor. You'll receive guidelines and best practices as well as personal consults and feedback as you build your dream list of colleges, write and edit a compelling personal essay, finalize multiple applications, and much more.
No stressful procrastinating—the aim of this program is to get your materials submitted by November 1st, so last-minute deadlines don't spoil your holiday plans!

We're here to help turn an overwhelming process into a simple, successful journey.
In 4 virtual sessions, we'll complete...
College list of 15-20 colleges (parent choices, student choices)
High school resume for college recommendation letters
College essay refined, edited, and ready to submit
Pre-filled Common App ready to submit after counselor and parents give approval
Help organizing college tours for families
Questions answered and anxieties calmed about the process
ACT/SAT updates (most colleges are now SAT-optional)
From start to finish, students will receive 1:1 attention
Emilia and her staff of seasoned counselors will support each student as they begin and complete their applications, create a resume, research schools, learn how to promote themselves according to their talent, skills, and personal story— it's our intention to help students have agency in this process.
Each of the 4 virtual sessions will take place live online via zoom.
On the first day, we'll create a unique email that parents have access to so there is a single point of contact — for both parents and students — moving forward throughout and beyond the bootcamp
Note that for the majority of our time together we will be working 1:1 with students, so they take responsibility and ownership over the process. Parents/families are welcome to join for support, and message me or email me questions separately.
Following the completion of the bootcamp, Emilia will be available for 1:1 counseling for follow-ups.
“My daughter is now on the right path and I’m so relieved. I no longer feel the pressure to walk her through this. I heard about Emilia from word of mouth from another parent, and after one session with her I was ready to work together. I was skeptical about her college choices and worried they were not realistic. Emilia heard my concerns and incorporated my requests gently into my daughter’s college list and it has actually shifted to better choices—phew!”
